Gerry Montcalm

Financial Advisor

Gerry Montcalm has been employed in the financial services industry for 45 years. He founded his own company in February 1994. Gerry is fluently bilingual.

 

Gerry works diligently to assist his clients gain command of their wealth management objectives through a sound and balanced program of gathering information, identifying goals, setting a course, implementing solutions and monitoring the progress. Striving to find the best independent solution for each client’s unique financial needs, Gerry dedicates his practice to helping his clients live their dreams.

 

Gerry has shared his knowledge through seminars for both individual and corporate clients on the subjects of wealth management, employee benefits and retirement planning. His innovative strategies for clients led to being invited in 2004 by a leading Canadian Mutual Fund Company to speak as a keynote speaker to a group of financial advisors gathered in Los Angeles for a due diligence conference.

 

Gerry has also served two terms as an elected official in municipal government where he represented his community’s interests and chaired several multi-million dollar infrastructure projects. His experience in health care was especially helpful in chairing the building committee of the town’s medical center and in attracting two highly qualified doctors to our area.

 

Gerry & his wife Huguette recently moved to Orleans east of Ottawa to get closer to their family. Gerry is beginning to slow down and his wife Huguette retired as a research analyst with Statistics Canada. Huguette is now a big help with research for the office. Gerry and Huguette enjoy being grandparents, playing golf and spending time at the lake.

Cheryl Gravelle

Cheryl graduated from Algonquin College in Ottawa as a business administration assistant in 1980 to start her career as a legal secretary. The nature of the law practice melded into real estate development and even though Cheryl successfully completed the Canadian Real Estate Institutes sales course in the early 80s, a career change to administrative assistant to the president and vice president of Ottawa’s largest mortgage brokerage firm was put in place in 1984.

 

While expecting the birth of her second child in 1993, Cheryl got her first taste of financial planning, going to work for a Chartered Financial Planner part time as the rent receivable officer in the property management side of the business. In 1998, Cheryl moved to a full time position in a financial planning firm where she provided administrative and customer service support for a clientele of investment and insurance customers. In 2002, Cheryl followed the president of that office who joined one of Canada’s largest national wealth management companies.

 

Cheryl joined our team on August 29, 2005 as our office manager and heads our administration and client service department. Cheryl is our go to person and she excels in the area of customer service and satisfaction. Her years of varied experience dealing with clients in banking, investments, real estate and insurance issues provides her with a superb understanding of our clients’ needs. Cheryl has strong organizational skills, is a very personable and smiling individual who thoroughly enjoys her work.

 

Cheryl holds a Life, Accident and Sickness Insurance Agent Licence as well as her mutual funds registration. She is enrolled in a prestigious employee benefit industry designation program offered through Dalhousie University. Cheryl is focused on attaining the C.E.B.S. designation to expand her knowledge as an employee benefit advisor.

 

Cheryl is enjoying her role as “Nana” to her first grandchild. She now resides in Moose Creek with her husband Paul and son David.

Supporting the communities within which we work

At IPC, we built IPC Cares to bring together the various efforts we make towards enhancing the communities within which we operate. By adopting causes that are close to our hearts, we keep ourselves committed and accountable.

Last year alone, as a company, we supported the aid efforts on the Fort McMurray fires, palliative care through The Healing Cycle Foundation and women and children through The Salvation Army.

Perhaps the most significant effort we undertake, and one that we believe is representative of the kind of work that inspires and keeps us committed to our CSR efforts, is the community development project in Honduras with The Carpenteros & Friends. Last year’s project involved a group of IPC staff and Advisors volunteering their time and energy on the ground. Very little is as inspiring and rewarding as living the lives of the people you’re helping, and every one of the people who took the journey came back a changed person, even more determined to stay committed to making a difference in the world!

We also made countless small but significant contributions of our time and resources within our communities through many grassroots charities we believe in, and the ripple effect of their efforts are always rewarding.
